Biography of John Heder

Johnathan Heder, an American actor and screenwriter, is best known for his leading role in the 2004 comedy "Napoleon Dynamite." He was born into a family of a family doctor and was one of six children. He has two older siblings, two younger siblings, and a twin brother named Dan. Heder completed high school in Oregon, where he was a member of the school swim team and the DRAMA association.

In 2002, Johnathan graduated from Brigham Young University and began working on the short animated film "Pet Shop," based on a script by L. Dins. This film later won an Emmy in 2005, although Heder left the project after starting his own film career. During his college years, Heder appeared in a short film by J. Hess called "Peluca," which gained critical acclaim after several screenings at local film festivals and eventually evolved into the film "Napoleon Dynamite." For this successful film, Heder received two MTV Movie Awards, including "Breakthrough of the Year."

In 2005, John hosted "Saturday Night Live" with singer Ashlee Simpson and appeared in a series of commercials in character, but he received only $1000 for the film. He then appeared in the movie "The Sasquatch Gang" (2006), had a supporting role in the romantic comedy "Just Like Heaven," and played one of the main roles alongside Rob Schneider and David Spade in "The Benchwarmers" (2006). He also voiced the character known as "Skull" in the animated film "Monster House" and starred with Billy Bob Thornton in the comedy "School for Scoundrels" (2006). However, only "Monster House" gained significant recognition, receiving an Oscar nomination.

His situation changed with the release of "Blades of Glory" (2007), a caricature that bordered on grotesque. He also appeared in the well-known animated film "Surf's Up!" (Heder voiced the character Chicken Joe), the web series "Woke Up Dead" (where he was a producer and one of the main actors), and the film "Mama's Boy." In 2010, two more of Heder's films, "Alive and Well" and "When in Rome," were scheduled for release.

Heder is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served on a mission for this religious group in Japan, where he had to learn Japanese. In 2002, John Heder married Kirsten Bales, and they welcomed their daughter, Evan Jane, in 2007.
